Oh hey, look what I wrote. The classic tale of candy princess meets vampire queen, they make sweet music together and have misunderstandings. Or, if you will, how Princess Bubblegum and Marceline got together in the first place.
She smiles at you, wide and gleaming, and you find yourself unable to tear your eyes away for several seconds.
If you kiss a vampire, do the fangs get in the way?
Scientific queries such as this interest you.
This is also a gift for Elena because she is far too good to me and I know for a fact that there is a package lying in wait for me when I get back to my flat! But if there is any more editing that needs to be done that will have to happen tomorrow, because it is 6 am and this is the second night in less than a week that I’ve been staying up laughing alone with a word document.
Note: Latin for Warrior/fighter, also inspired from the song by Globus.
Summary: Paranormal Hunter AU. Set directly after “Bitter Daylight”. Self-beta’d (apologies if I missed anything!). Fighting breaks out as a demon tries to assassinate Ivan at the party. Khan escapes to the upper levels, and the group fights their way up, taking care of Khan’s army of demons, humans and the like under his control.
Summary: AU as of Episode 9. Amon never shows up, and Tarrlok succeeds in his plan to escape Republic City and take Korra with him as a hostage.
Pairing: Korra x Tarrlok…kind of.
The vision of Republic City as it was forty-two years ago fades away, and Korra closes her eyes, her head spinning. “Aang,” she whispers, drained. All the breath leaves her body in an exhausted sigh, and she leans back against the wall of her cage, gripping her head in frustration and closing her eyes tight. This whole time, Aang had been trying to warn her about Tarrlok, and she had been too stupid to see the truth. If she had been able to get in touch with him earlier, through meditation (as Tenzin had always been urging her to do) none of this would have happened. She would be at home on Air Temple Island, rather than abducted and locked up in a tiny box in the middle of nowhere.
So as any of you who only follow this blog because you read my fanfiction (specifically my zutara fic After the Storm) I am nearly at the end of my first ongoing series. Technically I finished writing the last chapter and epilogue yesterday afternoon, but you’ll all have to wait a few more weeks…
Waterbending is a comfort to Korra. Water soothes. Water is home, Senna’s cool hands on young Korra’s scrapes and burns, of which there were plenty; is the calmness of Sifu Katara, the only person Korra would speak with after they grabbed her, kicking and screaming, from her home; is normality, something she was born into rather than the things that make her a freak.
Waterbending is part of a proud heritage, a community, a family. Something that’s inherently Korra, not Avatar, and the feeling of camaraderie and pride whenever she sees another Water Tribe descendent. It’s a feeling of closeness to her Sifu, a woman she looks up to perhaps more than anyone. It’s the flow of energy through her, and pure happiness— the closest Korra gets to spiritual is when she’s waterbending, really concentrating on the motion of the world.
Fandom: Legend of Korra Title: First Impressions Character(s) or Pairing(s): Bolin, Mako, tiny hints of little-kid-crush!Borra Rating: PG Warnings: Fluffy fluffy fluff Summary: Bolin and Mako got their first look at Korra long before they met on that fateful day at the arena.
There’s a picture of a girl on the front page of the newspaper.
It catches Bolin’s eye, crumpled to the side in the trash can, as he digs through for scraps of food. There is something noticeable about her; maybe it’s her smile. She looks so tiny, surrounded by solemn and important looking men on both sides, but she’s still grinning toothily, broadly, fearlessly.
[for minuiko who has drawn a couple of beautifulthings for some of my fic and requested mako and bolin’s first night on the streets]
Stumbling over the cobblestones in the dark, Bolin follows Mako blindly, their sweating hands clutched. He can’t help but feel as though there’s something following them- the monster hiding under his bed, the bad spirits that catch naughty children. Bolin grabs Mako’s hand tighter and he hisses. Mako is carrying both their bags, and Bolin’s only holding his little rabbit, held close to his heart.
Mako is trying to summon his patience as he kneels next to Bolin. He’s only three years older, but right now, he looks so much bigger than Bolin does. “Bo. We need to go fast right now, okay? We need to find a place to sleep. Like camping, remember? We can’t keep stopping.”
“Monsters.” Bolin whimpers, hiding his face in his bunny. “Monsters are coming.”
A/N: Five minutes, 500 words. …not counting when I fell asleep in the middle of it.
—- ASSURANCE —-
“Oh!” The woman pauses in the doorway, one hand braced on the bulge of her belly, the other thrown up in a star over her lips. “Oh”—her voice softens; her mouth does too, its smile easy—“I’m sorry, Korra. I wasn’t expecting to see you up this early.”
The Avatar blinks sleepily at Pema from the table sequestered in the kitchen’s corner. At her shoulder the window glows gray and pearlescent, thick with dawn’s coming. She yawns and admits, “I’m up, yeah, but I dunno whether I’m awake exactly.”
A/N: For Yamino, who had the idea of writing a fic like this in the first place.
—- THREE LESSONS —-
“Ow!” She flinches, scrunching her face up as she turns to shoot a glare largely false over her shoulder. “What’re you picking at me with, kid? A crablobster claw?”
Her smile all teeth and eagerness, Ikki beams unabashedly up at the Avatar. “They’re tweezers,” she professes. Rocking forward on her knees and arching too, she rasps the metal tongs over the tip of Korra’s nose. “You’ve got about a billion splinters.”
“A billion cuts,” Jinora adds, leaning in toward the Waterbender’s front with a cotton swab.
“Billion bruises,” croons Meelo. He gives one of the largest mentioned blotches a prod. “Purple and green and orange and—”
She looks down and sideways at no one, her smile faint, her eyes distant. The strong slant of her shoulders nevertheless sags a little. “I think you’re the first authority figure in the city who’s happy I’m here,” Korra says.
